Permanent Gum Bleaching
Feeling great about your smile can translate to feeling better about yourself. Taking care of your teeth through good dental hygiene and regular dental checkups are two of the best ways to keep your smile healthy and attractive, but some people have natural gum discolorations that can detract from their smiles. Dark gums are common in people with certain ethnic ancestries but can occur in anyone. They may be more likely in people who smoke or who have certain types of dental restorations. Regardless of the reason for your gum discolorations, we can help with permanent gum bleaching.
Dr. Farnoosh has pioneered this special permanent gum bleaching procedure which can be done in a single one-hour appointment and the results are permanent. Patients of Dr. Farnoosh enjoy not only permanent results but also comfortable results. There are no complications associated with his techniques, and most patients are able to go back to their normal diet, dental hygiene and daily routine after the treatment. Patients with sensitive gums may experience mild discomfort that is easily managed with OTC medications.
If you are a candidate for our permanent gum bleaching procedure, Dr. Farnoosh will begin by examining your gums and teeth. Patients with untreated dental disease, such as exposed roots or periodontitis, may need to undergo treatments to restore health before continuing with cosmetic procedures. A topical or local anesthetic may be used to ensure your comfort, and a bleaching gel will be applied to the gums. After a dermabrasion procedure, your gums will be pink and even in tone. We are able to achieve dramatic gum lightening with permanent results. Spots, streaks and widespread discolorations all respond well to this treatment.
Some patients may benefit from additional surgical procedures to restore or enhance the appearance of their gums. Contact our office today to learn more or to schedule your consultation for permanent gum bleaching.
